Family Support Program
A free in-home support service for
families experiencing particular
difficulties, helping them to overcome
these problems and continue to provide
good care for their children.
The sorts of family difficulties that
this program can help with, include:
- Personal issues
- Parenting support
- Relationship issues
- Child or adolescent behaviour
problems
- Families in temporary crisis
- Income, housing or employment
difficulties
- Child health, development and
safety issues
- Emotional and psychological
issues
- Alcohol and drug issues
- Intellectual, physical or
sensory disabilities
A family support worker visits
families in their own homes and assists
them to work towards achieving goals
that they have set for themselves. The
worker helps them to develop their
parenting, household management and
financial management skills, and also
assists the families to link into other
services and supports in the local area.
