Family Services
The
various programs offered under family
services are aimed at assisting families
living in Manningham, who are
experiencing difficulties, to overcome
these problems and continue to provide
good care for their children.
Families are provided
with emotional and practical support and
are assisted to develop their parenting
skills. Families are provided with
information on parenting, child
development, child behaviour management
and helped to link in to other services
and supports in the local area.
- The
Hands on Parenting Support Program
(formerly known as "Good
Beginnings") uses volunteers, who
are parents themselves, to provide
support and assistance to families
with young children, 0 – 5 years of
age.
-
In-Home Family Support Program
aims to assist families with
children under the age of 18 who are
experiencing particular
difficulties. These difficulties may
include: child development and
behaviour management concerns;
relationship problems, social
isolation and lack of support;
financial and household management
difficulties; mental illness and
post natal depression.
- Our
Chinese Family Playgroup links
parents and children of Chinese
heritage, living in and around
Manningham, through a weekly
playgroup held at the Pilgrim
Uniting Church.
- We run a variety of
Parenting Education Programs and
workshops throughout the year,
covering a wide range of
family-related topics.
