Client Requirements
Waiting
List
Those assessed as
eligible for the service who wish to
participate in Doncare Social Support
and for whom a place in a group is not
currently available are place on a
waiting list.
Inclusion from the
waiting list into a group is determined
on the basis of 'Prioritising of
Clients'
The Manager will
continue to work with other service
providers, community providers and
community groups to develop more group
opportunities locally to cater for those
on the waiting list and other people in
the target group.
Refusal of services to clients
-
Clients are denied service if
they are unable to toilet
themselves as the staff and
volunteers have no formal
education or training on how to
care for the clients who suffer
from incontinence.
-
Clients who live in a nursing
home or hostel may also be
denied Social Support Program.
The exception to this rule is if
the client was an existing
Social Support client before
entering a hostel then the
client will be allowed to stay
in one of the Social Support
Groups.
-
If there are no existing
vacancies in the Social Support
Groups, clients will be put on
waiting list. Please refer to
the waiting list procedure.
-
Clients have the right to appeal
a decision if they feel the
decision they have received is
unfair.
