Volunteering For Social Support
Volunteers
in the Social Support Program provide
transport/and or assist with a range of
social groups for isolated older people
(55+) living in the City of Manningham.
Your commitment can be BIG or SMALL.
Volunteers can work with:
Roles that can be undertaken by
volunteers for this Program are:
- Social Support Volunteer
- Transport Driver and/or
Transport Assistant
Social Support Volunteer Position
Description
Support older people to participate
in the group, through practical support
and encouragement during the program.
Volunteer Transport Driver and Transport
Assistant
- Transport the participants to
and from their homes
- Assist the driver on the Mini
Bus
Volunteers have the option of
using:
- Own vehicle
- Mini Bus
- Centre Car
Training
- All Volunteers must complete a
two hour Volunteer Induction
Workshop.
- Safe Transport Management - if
you are a Volunteer driver.
- Driver Assessment - if driving a
community bus.
Ongoing training opportunities
offered to Doncare volunteers for those
people interested
All volunteers will undergo a Police
Check which is arranged and paid for by
Doncare.
